There are no trends between two data points. Probably not between three or even five. At best you have a line, maybe a squiggle.

Is that revolutionary reading on your sensitive seismograph or just a fox strolling around outside?

How would you collect enough data points to produce a trend? How are you filtering out coincidences? How confident are you in that prediction? Not in you mind but out of your wallet? When are you going to place that bet?
