Breaking It In

When was the last time you took the day off? Not just from your job but from any sort of productivity? What would that even look like?

You can maintain routines like daily exercise and meditation, of course, but what if you dropped all of your other goals for a day? No “catching up” on your emails or Facebok feeds. No reading that book you’ve “been meaning to read” for months. Just doing whatever feels nice for only as long as it feels that way. Hard to imagine, right?

When was the last time you allowed yourself to feel like you weren’t failing to do something else? To drop all thought of future worries? To feel present in the moment?

Tomorrow’s as good a day as any to take off. Today’s even better. But do it soon, one way or another.
